Build the Right Klaviyo Foundation
Service Scope
Klaviyo Account Setup & Configuration is a fixed-scope service for one business and one Klaviyo account.
The service creates or reviews the account’s essential foundation, including organization information, user access, sender defaults, one primary email list, brand settings, tracking preferences, consent safeguards, and launch readiness.
This service prepares the account for future Klaviyo work. It does not include e-commerce integration, data migration, contact import, email production, campaigns, forms, or automation flows.
Create or Review the Klaviyo Account
We create one new Klaviyo account or review one existing account that has not yet been fully configured.
The review covers the essential settings directly related to preparing the account for professional use.
If the existing account contains active campaigns, flows, integrations, or substantial historical data, this service does not constitute a comprehensive account audit. A more detailed review requires the separate Klaviyo Account Audit & Optimization service.
Complete the Klaviyo Setup Process
We review and complete the applicable steps in Klaviyo’s account setup process.
This may include:
- Confirming the organization name
- Confirming the business website
- Selecting the appropriate business category
- Reviewing the account’s primary marketing objectives
- Confirming the intended email channel
- Reviewing available account features
- Checking the general setup status
- Identifying incomplete foundational settings
Store integration, historical synchronization, profile import, and campaign production are not included in this setup process.
Configure Organization Information
We configure the approved organization information supplied by the client.
This may include:
- Company or organization name
- Business website
- Business industry or vertical
- Physical business address
- Default timezone
- Applicable regional settings
- Default currency where available
- Business contact information
- Required footer information
The client is responsible for supplying accurate information and approving the business address displayed in marketing-email footers.
Review the Klaviyo Plan
We complete one practical review of the client’s current or intended Klaviyo plan.
The review may consider:
- Estimated active-profile count
- Expected monthly email volume
- Required user access
- Intended marketing channels
- Required platform features
- Current billing configuration
- Obvious plan limitations
The client makes the final subscription decision and pays all Klaviyo charges directly.
This service does not include negotiating with Klaviyo, purchasing a subscription, disputing charges, or managing ongoing billing.
Configure Up to Three Users
We add or review access for up to three approved users when the client’s active plan and permissions allow it.
The user-access review may include:
- Confirming the account Owner
- Adding approved team members
- Selecting appropriate available roles
- Limiting unnecessary administrative access
- Identifying inactive or unauthorized users
- Confirming basic account-access responsibilities
Each team member should use an individual login. Shared passwords and shared authentication codes should not be used.
The client remains responsible for maintaining user access, passwords, multifactor authentication, and account security after handoff.
Configure the Default Sender Identity
We configure one approved default sender identity for future Klaviyo messages.
This includes:
- One default sender name
- One default sender email address
- One reply-to email address
- Basic alignment with the business name
- Review of the visible sender information
The client must provide working email addresses that the business owns and controls.
This service does not include DNS changes, branded sending-domain authentication, dedicated click tracking, domain warming, or sender-reputation repair. Those requirements are handled through the separate Klaviyo Sending Domain Authentication & Deliverability Setup service.
Configure the Brand Library
We configure the basic available Klaviyo brand settings using client-provided assets.
This may include:
- One primary logo
- Approved brand colors
- Primary and secondary font selections
- Basic button styling preferences
- Business social links when supplied
- Default visual references for future email production
The service uses existing client assets. Logo design, brand-identity development, image editing, custom font licensing, and full email-template production are not included.
Create One Primary Email List
We create or review one primary email list for future subscriber collection.
The setup includes:
- A clear internal list name
- Basic list identification
- Review of the associated consent method
- Review of available default list settings
- Confirmation that the list can be used in future forms and flows
No contacts are imported, cleaned, merged, enriched, subscribed, or transferred under this service.
Profile import and list restructuring are available through Klaviyo Profile Import & List Organization.
Review Consent and Suppression Safeguards
We review the account’s basic email-consent and suppression foundation.
The review covers:
- The distinction between subscribed and unsubscribed profiles
- The distinction between consent and suppression status
- The selected primary list’s consent method
- Available default subscribe settings
- Existing suppression information when visible
- Obvious settings that could create avoidable sending risks
The service does not include determining whether the client’s previous or future data-collection practices comply with a particular law, regulation, contract, or industry requirement.
The client is responsible for providing valid marketing permission and approving all consent language.
Review Default Consent Pages
We review the account-level default pages associated with email consent.
These may include:
- Subscribe page
- Email confirmation page
- Unsubscribe page
- Preference page
Where the available editor allows, we apply basic supplied business information and existing brand elements.
Custom page design, custom preference-center development, multilingual content, legal copywriting, website embedding, and signup-form creation are not included.
Configure Basic Email Defaults
We review and configure the available account-level email preferences that affect future campaigns and flows.
This may include:
- Default sender information
- Default reply-to information
- Basic footer details
- Available sending preferences
- Email tracking preferences
- Basic branding defaults
- Available unsubscribe behavior
- Applicable account-level email settings
Individual campaign and flow-message settings are configured only when those services are purchased separately.
Review Smart Sending
We review the account’s available Smart Sending configuration for email.
Smart Sending can help reduce situations in which the same profile receives too many marketing messages within a short period.
The client receives a practical baseline recommendation based on the expected campaign and automation structure.
This service does not include configuring the sending logic inside individual campaigns or flows.
Configure Basic UTM Tracking
We review and configure one basic account-level UTM structure for future Klaviyo email messages.
The structure may include:
- UTM source
- UTM medium
- UTM campaign
- Available standard Klaviyo values
- Basic naming consistency
Google Analytics installation, GA4 configuration, Google Tag Manager setup, custom attribution modeling, dashboard creation, and historical reporting repair are not included.
Complete an Account-Readiness Review
After the approved settings are configured, we complete one account-readiness review.
The review verifies:
- Organization information
- Default timezone
- User access
- Default sender identity
- Primary email list
- Brand settings
- Basic consent settings
- Suppression safeguards
- Smart Sending preferences
- UTM tracking structure
- Visible incomplete setup items
This validation does not include sending a live campaign, activating a flow, importing contacts, publishing a signup form, or connecting an e-commerce store.
