MAILCHIMP ACCOUNT CONFIGURATION

Build the Right Foundation Before You Send

We configure one Mailchimp account and one primary audience with accurate business details, practical sender defaults, appropriate access settings, and the essential account foundation needed before contacts, campaigns, templates, or automations are added.

Service Scope

Mailchimp Account Setup & Configuration is a fixed-scope service for one business, one new or lightly used Mailchimp account, one primary audience, and basic access preparation for up to three approved users.

The service establishes the essential account, audience, sender, opt-in, contact-information, access, notification, and tracking settings required before regular email marketing work begins.

This package does not include contact imports, domain authentication, template design, campaign creation, marketing automation, or ongoing account management.

Set Up or Review the Mailchimp Account

We set up one new Mailchimp account or review the essential configuration of one existing account.

The review covers the settings directly related to the approved business and future email-marketing activity. Existing campaigns, contacts, templates, automations, integrations, and historical account data are not rebuilt or reorganized under this package.

The Mailchimp account remains owned and controlled by the client.

Configure Essential Account Details

We configure or review the account’s core administrative settings.

These may include:

  • Account name
  • Business region
  • Time zone
  • Date and time format
  • Preferred weekly start day
  • Currency format
  • Default email builder selection
  • Relevant account notification preferences

These settings help ensure that scheduling, reporting, account activity, and future campaign preparation reflect the client’s actual business location and working preferences.

Review the Active Mailchimp Plan

We review the client’s active Mailchimp plan and identify the primary account capabilities relevant to the approved setup.

This review may cover available audiences, contact capacity, user-access limitations, email features, forms, reporting options, and other plan-dependent functionality.

Mailchimp subscription selection remains the client’s decision. Subscription fees, upgrades, downgrades, additional contacts, overages, and third-party charges are not included in the service price.

Prepare One Primary Audience

We create or configure one primary Mailchimp audience.

The audience setup may include:

  • Approved audience name
  • Business contact information
  • Required physical mailing address
  • Default From name
  • Default From email address
  • Reply-to email address
  • Permission reminder
  • Basic audience notification settings
  • Approved opt-in method
  • Basic form defaults

Mailchimp generally recommends maintaining one primary audience and organizing contacts within that audience instead of creating unnecessary duplicate audiences.

Contact imports, tags, groups, saved segments, and detailed audience organization are covered by the separate Mailchimp Audience Import & Organization service.

Align the Default Sender Information

We configure one approved From name, one working From email address, and one reply-to address for future Mailchimp marketing emails.

Where Mailchimp requires standard email verification, we assist with verifying the approved sender address using the confirmation message received by the client.

This service does not configure DKIM, DMARC, SPF, or other DNS records. Those items are covered by the separate Mailchimp Domain Authentication & Deliverability Setup service.

Configure Audience Contact and Footer Information

We review the business information Mailchimp uses for required campaign identification and footer content.

This may include:

  • Business or organization name
  • Physical mailing address
  • Approved contact details
  • Website address
  • Permission reminder
  • Default sender identification

The client is responsible for supplying complete and accurate business information and determining whether the provided information satisfies applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

KizilCo configures the approved information but does not provide legal advice or certify regulatory compliance.

Configure Core Audience Fields

We configure or review up to five core audience fields for future contact records and personalization.

These fields may include:

  • Email address
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Company name
  • Phone number
  • Location
  • Customer type
  • Another approved basic field

Where appropriate, we configure approved merge tags and practical default merge values for missing personalization data.

This package does not include importing contacts, mapping a full database, data enrichment, duplicate resolution, or creating an advanced audience architecture.

Configure the Opt-In Method and Form Defaults

We configure the client-approved single or double opt-in method for one primary audience.

We also review the basic signup-form defaults directly connected to the audience, such as the approved audience fields and available standard form settings.

The client must select the opt-in approach and provide any required consent, privacy, disclosure, or permission language.

Custom signup-form design, website embedding, landing-page development, preferences-center customization, GDPR-form preparation, and legal review are not included.

Prepare User Access

We assist with inviting and assigning appropriate standard Mailchimp access to up to three approved users.

The client must provide each user’s correct email address and approve the intended access level.

Available user types and the number of permitted users depend on the client’s active Mailchimp plan. Password creation, multifactor authentication, and personal login verification must be completed by each individual user.

Review Notifications and Tracking Options

We review the relevant account and audience notification settings available within the client’s plan.

We also review the standard tracking options that can be selected when future campaigns are created, including available open, click, and supported link-tracking settings.

Google Analytics property creation, GA4 configuration, Google Tag Manager work, conversion tracking, website analytics repair, e-commerce tracking, and campaign-specific UTM strategy are separate services.

Validate the Configuration

After the approved settings are entered, we perform one final configuration review.

The review confirms the visible status of:

  • Account details
  • Primary audience settings
  • Sender information
  • Audience contact information
  • Core audience fields
  • Opt-in selection
  • User invitations
  • Notification settings
  • Available tracking options

One standard round of in-scope corrections is included for configuration issues identified during this review.

Implementation Summary

The client receives a concise implementation summary identifying:

  • The account configured
  • The primary audience prepared
  • The administrative settings reviewed
  • The sender information configured
  • The audience fields established
  • The opt-in method selected
  • The users invited
  • Any plan-related limitation
  • Any unresolved client or third-party requirement
  • Recommended next services

The completed account is handed back to the client as the foundation for future audience imports, domain authentication, templates, campaigns, and automations.

Client Requirements

Before configuration begins, the client must provide:

  • Mailchimp Owner, Admin, or approved agency access
  • Accurate business and account information
  • The required physical mailing address
  • One working business sender email address
  • The approved From name

  • The selected single or double opt-in method
  • Approved permission-reminder wording
  • Up to five requested audience fields
  • Names and email addresses for up to three users
  • Timely review and approval of the completed settings
