Build a Trusted Sending Foundation
Service Scope
Mailchimp Domain Authentication & Deliverability Setup is a fixed-scope technical service for one business, one Mailchimp account, one business-owned sending domain, and one primary sending address.
The service establishes the domain-authentication foundation required for professional Mailchimp sending, reviews related DNS and sender settings, performs a practical deliverability-readiness check, and validates the completed configuration before regular campaigns are launched.
Verify Your Sending Domain
We verify one custom email domain inside the client’s Mailchimp account using an approved email address hosted on that domain.
The client must be able to receive the verification message or provide the verification code. Public email domains such as Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, and Outlook.com cannot be authenticated as client-owned sending domains.
Configure Mailchimp DKIM Authentication
We configure the authentication records supplied by Mailchimp for one approved sending domain.
The records can be installed through Mailchimp’s supported automated connection or added manually inside the client’s DNS provider. We confirm that the record names and values are entered correctly and review the authentication status displayed inside Mailchimp after DNS propagation.
Establish or Review DMARC
We review the domain’s existing DMARC configuration and add or update one appropriate DMARC TXT record when the current sending environment allows it.
The configuration is prepared conservatively so authentication can be established without applying an aggressive enforcement policy before all legitimate email-sending services using the domain are identified.
Complex multi-platform DMARC alignment, reporting analysis, policy escalation, and ongoing monitoring require a separate service.
Review SPF and Existing DNS Records
We review the domain’s visible SPF and related email-authentication records for duplicate SPF records, malformed syntax, obvious conflicts, or other conditions that could interfere with legitimate sending.
Existing records are preserved unless an approved correction is required. DNS-zone reconstruction, nameserver changes, email-hosting migration, and configuration of unrelated sending platforms are not included.
Align Your Mailchimp Sender Identity
We review and configure one primary From name, From email address, and reply-to address so the sender identity is consistent with the authenticated business domain.
We also review the available default campaign settings related to sender identification and confirm that the authenticated address is available for future Mailchimp campaigns.
Complete a Deliverability-Readiness Review
We perform one practical review of the Mailchimp account settings that can affect responsible email sending.
The review covers:
- Visible domain-authentication status
- From email and reply-to alignment
- Basic audience-health indicators
- Unsubscribe readiness
- Available campaign tracking settings
- Obvious account-level deliverability concerns
Authentication improves the technical foundation for email delivery, but it does not replace proper contact permission, audience maintenance, relevant content, responsible sending frequency, or sender-reputation management.
Test and Validate the Configuration
After the authentication records are recognized, we complete one controlled Mailchimp test send to up to three client-provided inboxes.
We review the available authentication results, confirm that the correct sending domain is being used, and address one standard round of in-scope authentication troubleshooting.
DNS changes may require up to 48 hours to propagate before final validation can be completed.
Implementation Summary
The client receives a concise implementation summary identifying:
- The domain configured
- The authentication status visible at handoff
- The sender settings reviewed
- Any unresolved third-party issue
- Practical recommendations for future campaign sending
The Mailchimp account, sending domain, DNS records, and associated business assets remain owned and controlled by the client.
Client Requirements
Before configuration begins, the client must provide:
- Administrator access to the Mailchimp account
- Access to the domain’s DNS provider or assistance from its authorized administrator
- One working email address hosted on the owned domain
- The approved From name and reply-to address
- Details of other legitimate email services using the domain
- Up to three email addresses for the controlled test send
- Timely review and approval of the completed configuration
Delivery and Revisions
Standard delivery is 3–5 business days after all required access and information are received.
DNS propagation, Mailchimp validation, domain-provider delays, and third-party technical issues may extend the completion time.
One consolidated clarification or correction round is included when submitted within seven days of delivery and remains within the original service scope.
