Make Sure Search Engines Can Find Your Important Pages
Service Scope
Website Indexing & Crawlability Optimization is a fixed-scope technical SEO implementation service designed to improve how search engines discover, access, crawl, and index one existing website.
The service covers one primary website and up to 50 priority or indexed pages.
The objective is to identify and correct approved technical conditions that may prevent important pages from being discovered, crawled efficiently, or included correctly in search engine indexes.
Crawlability Review
We review whether search engines can properly access the website and its important pages.
The review may include:
- Search engine crawler accessibility
- Important page discovery
- Crawl paths
- Blocked resources
- Navigation accessibility
- Orphaned page observations
- Internal linking barriers
- Crawl depth
- Error responses
- Redirect behavior
- Unnecessary crawl paths
The goal is to make priority pages easier for search engines to discover and access while reducing obvious technical barriers.
Indexation Review
We review the website’s current indexing configuration to identify pages that may be incorrectly excluded, duplicated, or presented to search engines.
The review may include:
- Indexed pages
- Non-indexed pages
- Noindex directives
- Canonical signals
- Duplicate URLs
- Redirected URLs
- Soft 404 observations
- Removed pages
- Parameterized URLs
- Search engine index coverage
- Priority pages missing from search
Where access is available, Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools data may be used to support the review.
Robots.txt Optimization
We review the website’s robots.txt file to determine whether important content is unintentionally blocked or unnecessary sections are being crawled.
Optimization may include:
- Search engine bot access
- Disallow directives
- Allow directives
- Sitemap references
- Unnecessary crawl restrictions
- Important resource accessibility
- Duplicate or conflicting directives
- Platform-generated robots.txt behavior
Changes are implemented only where supported by the website platform.
Some hosted platforms may restrict how extensively robots.txt can be modified.
XML Sitemap Optimization
We review the website’s XML sitemap configuration to help ensure that important indexable pages are represented correctly.
Optimization may include:
- Sitemap accessibility
- Sitemap URL validation
- Important page inclusion
- Non-indexable URL removal where supported
- Redirected URL observations
- Duplicate URL observations
- Invalid URL identification
- Sitemap organization
- Search engine submission
Existing automatically generated sitemaps may be limited by the capabilities of the CMS or e-commerce platform.
Indexing Directive Optimization
We review page-level indexing directives that communicate whether a page should be available to search engines.
Optimization may include:
- Index directives
- Noindex directives
- Follow and nofollow observations
- Meta robots configuration
- X-Robots-Tag observations
- Page-level SEO settings
- Conflicting indexing instructions
Incorrect directives affecting priority pages may be corrected within the available website configuration.
Canonical Review
Canonical tags help search engines understand which version of similar or duplicate URLs should be treated as the preferred page.
We review canonical implementation across priority pages.
The review may include:
- Missing canonical tags
- Incorrect canonical destinations
- Self-referencing canonicals
- Cross-page canonicals
- Duplicate URL relationships
- HTTP and HTTPS variations
- WWW and non-WWW variations
- Query parameter URLs
- Product or collection variations
Approved canonical corrections are implemented where supported.
Duplicate URL Review
Multiple URLs representing the same or very similar content can create unnecessary crawling and indexing complexity.
We identify obvious duplicate URL conditions such as:
- URL parameter variations
- Duplicate category paths
- Duplicate product paths
- HTTP and HTTPS versions
- WWW and non-WWW versions
- Trailing-slash variations
- Filter or sorting URLs
- Tracking parameter URLs
- Repeated content paths
Recommendations may include canonicalization, redirects, indexing directives, or internal linking corrections depending on the issue.
Redirect & Status Code Review
We review important URLs for technical responses that may interfere with crawling or indexing.
The review may include:
- 301 redirects
- 302 redirects
- Redirect chains
- Redirect loops
- 404 responses
- Soft 404 observations
- 5xx server errors
- Incorrect destination URLs
- Outdated internal links
Reasonable redirect corrections within the approved scope may be implemented where the website platform supports them.
Priority Page Discovery
We review whether commercially important pages can be discovered efficiently through the website’s internal structure.
Priority pages may include:
- Service pages
- Product pages
- Collection pages
- Category pages
- Location pages
- Landing pages
- Important informational pages
- Conversion-focused pages
Where appropriate, internal navigation or contextual linking improvements may be recommended or implemented to strengthen page discovery.
Orphan Page Review
Orphan pages have few or no meaningful internal links pointing toward them.
These pages may be difficult for search engines to discover or understand within the broader website structure.
The review may include:
- Priority orphan pages
- Weakly connected pages
- Missing internal links
- Sitemap-only pages
- Content without navigational paths
- Important pages located too deeply within the site
Relevant internal links may be added within the approved scope where appropriate.
Crawl Depth Optimization
We evaluate how many steps are required for search engines and users to reach important pages.
Where practical, optimization may include:
- Shortening paths to priority pages
- Strengthening internal links
- Improving category relationships
- Connecting supporting pages
- Improving access from high-level pages
- Reducing unnecessary structural depth
Complete website architecture redesign is not included.
Mobile Crawlability Review
Because major search engines primarily evaluate mobile versions of websites, we review priority pages for obvious mobile accessibility issues that may interfere with crawling or indexing.
The review may include:
- Mobile page availability
- Mobile content consistency
- Hidden critical content observations
- Mobile navigation accessibility
- Blocked resources
- Rendering observations
- Mobile page errors
Advanced responsive development or website redesign is outside the fixed scope.
Search Console Indexing Review
Where Google Search Console access is provided, we review relevant indexing information to identify major page discovery and indexation issues.
The review may include:
- Indexed URLs
- Excluded URLs
- Crawled but not indexed pages
- Discovered but not indexed pages
- Duplicate page observations
- Canonical issues
- Redirected URLs
- Not-found pages
- Server errors
- Sitemap status
Priority URLs may also be reviewed through URL Inspection where appropriate.
Bing Indexing Review
Where Bing Webmaster Tools access is available, we may review relevant Bing indexing and crawl information for additional visibility into how the website is processed.
The review may include:
- Indexed page status
- Crawl observations
- Sitemap status
- URL Inspection findings
- Site Explorer observations
- Crawl restrictions
- Priority page accessibility
This provides an additional search engine perspective beyond Google.
Indexing Requests
Where appropriate, eligible priority URLs may be submitted or requested for re-crawling through supported search engine tools.
This may include:
- Newly corrected pages
- Important existing pages
- Recently updated pages
- Previously inaccessible pages
- Priority commercial URLs
Submitting or requesting a URL does not guarantee crawling or indexing.
Search engines independently determine when and whether pages are crawled and included in their indexes.
IndexNow Review
Where appropriate and technically supported, we may review whether IndexNow can improve notification of new or updated URLs to participating search engines.
The review may include:
- Existing IndexNow configuration
- CMS support
- Plugin or application support
- URL update notifications
- Implementation validation
Advanced custom IndexNow API development is outside the fixed scope.
Crawlability Implementation
Approved indexing and crawlability corrections are implemented directly when the required website access and platform functionality are available.
Implementation may include:
- Robots.txt adjustments
- Indexing directive corrections
- Canonical corrections
- Redirect updates
- Internal linking changes
- Sitemap configuration
- Priority page accessibility improvements
- CMS SEO setting changes
- Supported crawl-control configuration
Implementation is limited to work that can be completed safely within the existing website environment.
Final Crawl & Index Validation
After implementation, we perform a final review to confirm that approved corrections have been applied.
Validation may include:
- Priority page crawlability
- Index directive review
- Robots.txt validation
- Sitemap validation
- Canonical validation
- Redirect testing
- Status code checks
- Internal page discovery
- Search Console observations
- Bing Webmaster Tools observations where available
Some indexing changes may require additional time before search engines re-crawl and reprocess the affected pages.

Scope Boundaries
This service focuses specifically on website crawlability, indexing configuration, and technical page discovery.
It does not include a complete technical SEO engagement, full website redesign, website migration, extensive custom development, server infrastructure remediation, full keyword research, content writing, backlink acquisition, digital PR, ongoing rank tracking, ongoing SEO management, paid advertising, or third-party software fees.
Large websites with more than 50 priority pages, complex faceted navigation, advanced JavaScript rendering issues, enterprise crawl systems, extensive international SEO configurations, or major indexing problems may require separate scope.
Search engines ultimately control crawling frequency, indexation, canonical selection, and search visibility.
The service does not guarantee that every submitted or technically eligible page will be indexed or achieve specific rankings, traffic levels, leads, conversions, or revenue.
